Department Controller at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency is the leading, directing, and coordinating authority in civil defense. We ensure that society is prepared for crises, heightened readiness, and war.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks
As a department controller, you are a key person in the work of financial management and follow-up.
Your tasks include:
- planning and coordinating work on financial matters within the department based on the agency's direction
- supporting managers in budget and forecasting work through analysis, follow-up, and reporting
- providing decision-making support for the department management and contributing to long-term budget proposals to the government
- developing methods and processes for management, planning, and follow-up together with colleagues inside and outside the department
- contributing to the annual report, operational plan, and other steering documents
- being a contact point for budget and financial matters within the department
Your Qualifications and Competencies
We are looking for someone who has:
- a relevant academic degree in economics or equivalent education
- several years of experience in controller work, financial management, or similar
- a good understanding of planning, follow-up, and government budget processes
- excellent skills in Excel and the Office suite, as well as experience with systems such as Unit4, Public 360, and SharePoint
- fluent Swedish in speech and writing
- experience from a government agency or public administration
It is an advantage if you have:
- knowledge of government management and financial reporting

About the Employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.
Your workplace will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel is part of the job.
The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are designated for wartime placement.

In the staff for strategic direction and planning, we are 11 employees, and we are located in both Karlstad and Stockholm.
We have an activity-based office where you can choose your workspace according to your needs. You also have the opportunity to work remotely.
